The Sea Keepers Daughter By Lisa Wingate
by Lisa Wingate

The story drew me in from the beginning...but never went where you expected! The life the main character led wasn't where the story line went, it was about those who were sent to write the stories of people in the Okies years ago. It was a compelling story! The current life of the main character, her past, her mothers past and her grandmothers secret all culminating to a fascinating conclusion!

Contagious: Why Things Catch On

The author explains in the book about how you can generate more interests for your products or services. Word of mouth is always the best channel to get people to trust your business and products, so this book emphasizes how we can grow free word-of-mouth advertisement for what you offer. The author provided six principles to apply to our marketing activities. I like how it has real cast studies in the content too!

Social Media Made Me Rich: Here's How It Can do the Same for You
by Matthew Loop

I thought the title of this book is interesting. Social media for me is a free tool to connect with people, but I never thought about using it to make money. Or I should say, I never thought that it’s possible to use social media to make myself rich. This book has some interesting points about earning cash from social media platforms, but I just don’t know if it will work for me….

Ever since I started working here, most of our marketing activities are online/digital, but this book reminds me that the old school marketing tactics are actually still working and around us every day. We still need to know how to network with people and make real connections. It might be even more unique and valuable in this digital era. I love the idea!

The Conversion Code: Capture Internet Leads, Create Quality Appointments, Close More Sales

At work, it’s always tough to get visitors to convert into real customers that really pay for something instead of just coming to enjoy free stuff like our free guides, ebooks, etc. This is a book that gives great information about what can be done to get more sales/deals from those customers. It’s a very interesting read that gives me many thoughts and ideas to try out at work.

The hashtag title attracted my eyes! I couldn’t help but start reading this one. Of course, it is something to do with marketing and social media. I learned a lot from this book, and I am going to check out the podcasts from the same author. Always love to have more advice and tips about social media marketing and other leadership strategies.
