Everything That Remains
by Joshua Fields Millburn

Everything that Remains is a great book for self-reflection and makes you re-evaluate the items you carry in your life. The author discusses his early 20's and how he was "living the American Dream". He had everything that constitutes being successful, the large home, the luxury car, and the lavish household furnishings. As the author discovers, the items that we own wind up owning us. Ultimately, we gather so much stuff and are constantly being forced fed to live in a consumerist society. This book will help you gain perspective on the important things in life and makes you realize you don't need a house full of stuff to be truly happy. A great quick read, highly recommend.

Finding Dorothy
by Elizabeth Letts

This was a very enjoyable book. It is about how Mrs. Maud Baum, the wife of the author of The Wizard of Oz, she tries to make sure that MGM studios stay true to her husband's story. It goes back and forth between her relationship with Frank from there meeting until his publishing of the book. It also tells about her relationship with Judy Garland and about the famous song "Over the Rainbow" that was almost cut from the movie. It gives a new appreciation for the movie.

I Know Who You Are
by Alice Feeney

I enjoyed listening to this second novel by Alice Feeney, also read by Stephanie Racine. I found having the ebook helpful to reread parts I was confused about. Keira was kidnapped as a young child by Maggie who renames her Aimee. The chapters rotate between past and present throughout this novel too. I really love the author's writing style. However, I did not like the ending which is why I gave it 4 stars. I can't wait to read her next novel!

Sometimes I Lie

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook which was read by Stephanie Racine. I liked her English accent and diction in this psychological suspense novel. The chapters alternate between past and present which was somewhat confusing but that was part of the author's intention. Amber wakes up in a coma but can't speak. She also can't remember what happened, she has amnesia. I really love Alice Feeney's use of similes, metaphors and her play on words. Great writer!!! Great first novel!!!

Little Rose Lost and Found
by Mia Cara

Little Rose will have a profound lasting impression on anyone. In our so-called world your not allowed to express your opinions and beliefs. An article in Time Magazine described children born in this generation to be unimaginative, withdrawn, unadventurous, and cautious. I wonder why? Because of our world and being told what to do. Just imagine you have a debilitating illness. What do you do? Little Rose expresses her views in this book. Her illustrations depict what she is experiencing in her own life. This has helped her overcome her afflictions, and in doing so has helped many others. A very inspiring book to read.

This is a story that is partly based on facts. It is about a poor family that lives on the banks of the Mississippi River. It takes place during the depression. The father has taken the mother to a hospital to have a baby. In the meantime, people come and take the other children to a home where the children are adopted out. It is a story of their poor treatment in the home and about Georgia Tann who is a real figure who for 30 years sold children in Tennessee.

It was nice a good read. Between being a mom and reading about other mothers, it made me feel like what I do as a mom matters.
